The Reno Report for November 03, 2025

Email from City of Reno Reno City Manager Jackie Bryant, here with another Reno Report for your inbox. Can't view this email? View as Webpage A Message From Reno City Manager, Jackie Bryant. Hello, Reno! City Manager Jackie Bryant here. Can you believe it’s already November? As we head into the season of gratitude, a lot is happening in our City that I want to share with you! We’re collecting non-perishable food items to support the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and its mission to provide nutritious meals for neighbors in need. You can drop off donations now through November 20 at Reno City Hall (1st Floor Lobby), the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center, or the Moana Springs Community Aquatics and Fitness Center. The latest "On the Agenda" podcast episode features April Wolfe, Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with Parks and Recreation (and her parents, who were visiting on vacation), discussing how grants are supporting life-changing opportunities for Veterans. Definitely worth a listen! If you’ve ever wondered how a local government works behind the scenes, consider applying for the Reno Constituents Institute! This free program offers a great way to learn how municipalities operate. Applications are open now through December 5, but space is limited. If you don't make this round, there will be other RCI programs in the future. Before winter settles in, don’t miss the last two Biggest Little Fall Refresh events of the season on November 8 and 15. This is your chance to safely dispose of bulky items and help keep our neighborhoods clean! Reminder: The Ward 4 event on November 8th will only accept hazardous and e-waste. Finally, a quick scheduling note: City Council meetings this month will be held back-to-back on November 12 and November 19 to accommodate the upcoming holidays. Thanks for staying engaged and helping keep Reno a strong, caring community! Is there something specific you'd like to see in this newsletter? Please send me an email! Listen on Spotify Listen on Apple Podcasts City Updates The City of Reno schedules street sweepers to rid the streets of fallen leaves The City of Reno has six street sweepers and one large vacuum trailer that are out cleaning leaves on scheduled routes. They want to remind the community that it's illegal to blow your leaves out into the street. They ask instead that you bag up your own leaves and use them as a mulch, or compost, to get rid of the leaves on your own property. Matt Bow, the Maintenance and Operations Crew Supervisor, explains how leaves left in the street can cause an array of issues. According to a press release from the city, Reno police already integrated the parking enforcement division into its operations in July in order to help improve coordination and consistency. This new payment transition is "to modernize and streamline Reno’s parking program."
