Reno Home Wildfire Fuels Reduction Dumpster Program
Email from City of Reno Request a dumpster for your neighborhood! View as Webpage April 15, 2025 Reno Connect | Reno Home Wildfire Fuels Reduction Dumpster Program You can request a dumpster for your neighborhood! The program allows residents to dispose of dangerous vegetation and enhance their defensible space! The Reno Fire Department, in partnership with State Farm and Waste Management of Northern Nevada, would like to encourage residents to participate in the 2025 Reno Home Wildfire Fuels Reduction Dumpster Program. Dumpsters can now be reserved for neighborhoods that border the wildland urban interface. Residents will be able to dispose of dry vegetative waste and yard debris to mitigate fire risks. New this year, residents living outside of Reno Fire Department service areas, including Sparks and Truckee Meadows Fire Department jurisdictions, can also apply for the program. Dumpsters are 30-yards long and are delivered on Fridays and picked up the following Monday. There are a limited number of dumpsters available each weekend, so it’s important for residents to submit their applications as soon as possible. Please allow seven to nine business days for an application to be reviewed. This program is made possible through grants obtained from the State Farm Good Neighbor Program and Waste Management. Residents can apply for a dumpster online now through September 1, 2025, or until funds run out.
