Tell us what you think: Four chances this month View as Webpage April 8, 2024 Reno Connect | Housing Connecting Citizens to our Community   Attend a Virtual Meeting on Housing and Affordability Initiatives The City of Reno continues to address local housing shortages and is inviting the public to attend four upcoming virtual meetings to learn about the City’s efforts. As required by Assembly Bill 213, the City hopes to create an expedited development review process for housing projects, accompanied by zoning code incentives to encourage development. Proposed changes tied to the zoning code include:  Zoning incentives for affordable housing developments Density bonuses tailored for infill areas Flexibility in developing various housing types, including duplex, triplex, and fourplex units Streamlining the building permit process for residential projects (by-right) Meeting Details with registration links: Thursday, April 11th 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 15th 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16th 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17th 12:00– 1:00 p.m. All four meetings will cover the same information, accommodating various schedules within the community. Participants will need to pre-register for the virtual meetings. Registration hyperlinks are provided in each date above. In addition to the meetings, residents can provide feedback online via two forms: City Council Public Feedback Form Planning Commission Public Comment Form The proposed changes to Title 18 zoning code are intended to activate more affordable housing initiatives.
