You can participate by selecting this link: Take the Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon Survey. Childcare Zoning Amendments In response to the growing childcare crisis impacting families across the region, the City of Reno is launching a public engagement effort to gather community feedback on proposed amendments to its zoning code (Title 18) aimed at reducing barriers to opening childcare facilities. Residents, providers, and stakeholders are encouraged to participate in this important process. To view the draft ordinance, provide online feedback, or learn more about public input opportunities, visit the Development Services website. Live Entertainment Community Engagement Process Over the years, the regulations on live entertainment have changed, resulting in many of the existing bars/nightclubs having unrestricted live entertainment (singing, dancing, karaoke, etc.), while other newer bars/nightclubs have separate regulations that were approved through a Conditional Use Permit that are unique to that particular location. At the June 11, 2025, City Council meeting, staff presented information on existing Zoning Code standards related to live entertainment activities. As a part of the presentation, staff highlighted concerns expressed by bar operators and businesses that want to see more flexibility around the live entertainment regulations. Council provided direction for staff to continue gathering community feedback before moving forward with any potential changes to the Code. Development Services will host three virtual meetings at various times to accommodate a variety of schedules and present the same content at each one. Recordings of each meeting will be made available on the City’s website following the events. You can also submit your input by clicking this link. Learn more on the Development Services website.
