The Reno Report for October 20, 2025
Email from City of Reno What's Happening in the Biggest little City? Can't view this email? View as Webpage A Message From Reno City Manager, Jackie Bryant. Autumn is in full swing, and I’m excited to share some of the great things happening across our city this month. From family fun to environmental initiatives and programs that support residents of all ages, there’s plenty to look forward to in Reno. We’re gearing up for the Fourth Annual Trunk or Treat at Teglia’s Paradise Park on October 30, a favorite tradition that brings families together for a safe, fun-filled evening of costumes, candy, and community spirit. Costumes are encouraged but not required! For our youngest residents, the Sierra Kids Program is expanding with the launch of Sierra Tots, a six-week program designed for children ages 2–4 that helps build early social and play skills in a supportive, engaging environment. As we celebrate the season, we’re also focusing on sustainability through the ReLEAF Reno Discounted Tree Sale, returning this month in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. This program offers Reno residents the chance to reserve up to two subsidized, energy-saving trees, a simple way to help keep our neighborhoods greener and our air cleaner. And for our older adults, applications are now open for the Older Adults Home Modification Program, which helps qualifying homeowners 62 and older make safety and accessibility improvements, allowing them to stay comfortable in their homes for years to come. I’m proud of the work our teams are doing to make Reno welcoming, sustainable, and a connected community. Thank you for being such an important part of what makes our city special! The program benefits applicants who are 62 years old or older, with incomes at or below 80 percent of the area median income (AMI). Awarded applicants will receive modifications for their homes that aim to reduce fall risks, improve safety, and empower seniors to continue living independently. The program will be able to assist between 110 to 150 older adults, ages 62 and older, in receiving modifications to their homes.
